Hello and welcome to The Bothy Academy!

I always struggle to write these little sections, but to be able to tell you about the academy I have to first tell you a little about me.

Over 20 years of frustrated learning brought the bothy academy to life...

I first began my beauty journey at the original Inverness College over 20 years ago, looking to find a career I could enjoy and have fun doing while meeting lots of people. I couldn't have imagined that this would lead me to work and train as a specialist make up artist for Chanel, a manager and trainer for Urban Decay, a spa manager for Bannatyne's and finally running my own business as The Wellness Bothy which allowed me to work while retraining as a counsellor.


I have been lucky enough to be taught, and to teach, some of the best in the industry, but one thing has became obvious after seeing the training options for mental health counsellors - the beauty world does not offer enough ethical, safe and up to date training options for its professionals.
